I sometimes go to forums to see how people who aren't like me think and process the world.

3 places I've been going lately:

The Root - Black news. A place that believes in cultural appropriation being very wrong.

The Donald. Trump love forum for Trump.

Late Stage Capitalism. A pro-socialist forum focusing on the evils of the world. Automoderator post "PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS SUBREDDIT IS A SAFE SPACE FOR LEFTIST DISCUSSION. ANY LIBERALISM, CAPITALIST APOLOGIA, OR ATTEMPTS TO DEBATE SOCIALISM WILL BE MET WITH AN IMMEDIATE BAN."

Does this make me woke?

I've heard of "Late Stage Capitalism." They insta-ban everyone who makes any argument against socialism.

I've heard.

I don't specifically hit any particular place to see views other than mine... I see that just randomly hitting the popular forums. I see people calling someone who is socially and sexually awkward a "rapist." I see women with the mentality of children called "victims" when they make poor choices of their own free will. I see the answer to poverty argued as "bring back the guillotine for billionaires."

I'm already exposed to plenty of retards, people with the mentality of 3rd graders, and straight-up evil people actively trying to cause chaos. These people are allowed to vote. I'm plenty woke... and we're fucked.

No, just makes you dumb for wasting your time. People who frequent such sites aren't interested in actual debate, facts, or truth. They want to be right. So they surround themselves with people who agree with every stupid belief they have.

I mean, why don't you head to the next KKK meeting and offer to give a lecture on the merits of Jews or black people.

Funny thing is, I'm realizing I'm just as dumb because I've got people representing all three of those viewpoints in my feed.

Colleges offer counselling to students that were traumatized by having Ben Shapiro speak on their campus. Not just people that actually heard him speak or even saw him. People that were traumatized just knowing he was there. Does that sound like a culture where a free exchange of ideas is encouraged?

It sounds like a culture that encourages and rewards mental illness. And encourages them to vote democrat.
