Welcome to Thunderdome

Sat with my kid last weekend and watched the blu ray, I like him to understand sci fi references wherever they may be, and this movie has spawned a lot of references that still happen all over the place.

Anyway, he was quick to grasp the progression of intelligence/tech that the aliens were bestowing upon humans over eons, how more calories ingested = tribal dominance, and understood why the computer went crazy.

But at the end of the 2 hour movie, his official response was, "That was about an hour and a half of really good movie."

I think he's correct.

You needed to smoke weed with him for the last 30 minutes or so.

I'm amazed at how well the special effects hold up (despite the obvious 60's dress style).
