When did people start saying "pupper" instead of "dog?"

Do men do that? Trick question no, and if one does he is not a man.

This is an example of language being affected by the interwebs.
Pupper and Doggo are very, very common on Imgur, among other places.

Bullshit. I think when it comes to dogs, a man can be a pussy and still be a man. After all, dogs are better than us.

I use "dog paws" a lot when talking about ours . Pup is fine.
Pupper is weird.
Doggo is funny in memes. But like most things in memes, when you say out out loud in real life it sounds dumb.

You may be misunderstanding my intention. I teared up watching the free 10 minute preview of
A Dog's Life. I love my dog. Even when he's athritic and his face turns white, he will be my puppy. At no time between now and then will he ever be referred to as my pupper. That sounds like a name for the mini hot dogs you get at Krystals.

I have not referred to my dog as a pupper or doggo either, but I have no issue with folks doing it.
What do I care?
There are a lot of worse uses of our language out there.
