I was nervous going into this film because it didn't do well at the theaters. I was afraid the trailer was so good that it had to be all the funny moments from the film.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite some pacing issues (it can get slow) the film is really solid and easily the best dark comedy I've seen in a long time.
Bateman is brilliant. His character is ridiculously well written and he absolutely nails it. He comes off exactly like he should based on revelations throughout the film. It's funny watching him play this arrogant, foul mouthed character and rooting for him. Bateman might be the most likable person in Hollywood.
Everyone brings their A game. All the actors put in monster performances, the writing is top notch, the direction is really solid, etc.
I really want to break down the plot, but I can't without spoilers. I will say that the subplot about his relationship with one of his competitors weaves itself perfectly into the main plot line.
Great film. See it.

Just watched it again, thanks Free Cinemax weekend!
Holds up and is more fun the second time because you are looking at the reactions knowing what's coming.
Great film.

I didn't like it quite as much as Leisher, but it was still entertaining. The main plot was a little predictable, but the writing and acting was clever and well done. No extraneous parts here.
