Because it's hard to write stories and stuff...

Explain the twins, etc... I can see that.

I'd just like them to leave classics alone unless they've got an excellent story to tell and have top notch people involved.

In fact, I really have no issue with a prequel or even a sequel. What bothers me is the inevitable remake with Justin Bieber in the Jack Nicholson role.

I wasn't impressed by The Thing prequel, either. There is zero tension when you know how it is going to end, it just feels like mastubatory fan fiction.

So so many "WHY?! NOOOOOOO!!!"'s.

(and a few... "well ok, fine, if they do it well")

He brought up that Romanek was a "real filmmaker" because the director has notoriously walked away from productions where the studio tried to interfere too much with his vision. Films like The Wolfman and Cinderella, where he had a specific story he wanted to tell and as soon as he was told to start making drastic changes he merrily exited.

The appropriate time to merrily exit would be when you find out someone wants to redo a story that's been done to death a million times already.

"You want to redo what? Lon Chaney nailed that bitch."
