Lionsgate working on the film.

This could be an amazing film franchise, or it could suck balls.

The first hint will be if they shoot for PG-13 or under. That would be a bad sign. If they go for an R, I'll keep my hopes up.

They've had some solid smaller films.

Plus, if we're being honest, being a company behind big hits like The Hunger Games can only help their potential success.

Combine the epic Hunger Games with the far more fun and flashy Expendables and there's a chance. They still have to go for the R rating though.

They also put out the piece of crap that was Dogma which should be relegated to a special place in Kevin Smith hell along with Jersey Girl.

Over the weekend the kid and I marathoned the Mad Max movies, all four* of them.

About 20 minutes into TRW he says, "..... this is like a Borderlands movie." He was even more set in that opinion after Thunderdome.

So yep. Get George Miller to direct it, AFTER he does the next two MM movies.

*We skipped 80% of the first one, it would be too slow for his modern sensibilities. We just started the movie when Max's family gets killed, and he loses his shit and goes on his rampage, so he was properly set up for The Road Warrior.

Wtf is TRR? The first flick is drastically different from the latter two. You go from some basic remnants of civilized life to nothing. If they ever make Wasteland: the Movie, the MM and Snake Plissken films should provide all the look and feel needed.

Dogma was great.

And Jersey Girl is only hated by people who were pissed about "Bennifer".

Concur, Dogma was enjoyable.

If we're shitting on Kevin Smith, the biggest turd dropped has to be Chasing Amy.

I think Red State was his biggest turd. At least the second half of it.

C'mon people, you're just debating the size of all his turds.

Sorry, is it only a valid conversation when they belong to a politician?

I liked Dogma, Chasing Amy, Red State, and even Jersey Girl.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is where he turded it up.

Fuck Dogma. Not even a semi-naked Selma could save that one.
And Jersey Girl is only hated by people who were pissed about "Bennifer".

That's got nothing to do with why that flick sucked. Characters, plot, acting, and direction do.

All turds.

Ok, I haven't seen the last two. But everything he's done has been turds.

That was barely a real movie. That was a promise he made to a strung out Jay in rehab. I bet he's as shocked as anyone he ended up doing it.

It was dumb and funny, as was Mallrats.

Mallrats is one of the most underrated films of all time.

Back to Borderlands, A writer is hired and he doesn't inspire a lot of faith.
