I've never even heard of this movie until today, but apparently it opened at over 2,000 theaters this weekend and bombed.

Whoa. That's under $1K per theatre. That's more along the lines of $771.54 (rounding up), which means each place had a turnout of roughly 75 people, and that assumes one show per venue. Since most opening films will get at least 2-3 showings per day times 3 weekend evenings, it could be as many as 18-20K showings. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Good news is the budget was $6M, so it's not that much of a loss in terms of volume.
