Was a cartoon, now live action.

Here's a trailer.

Anime. Could be vaguely interesting. Imagine big-ass, brainless versions of people that show up one day and start eating the humans. The normals build up fortified cities with equally big-ass walls. Then non-brainless titans come on the scene and shit happens.

I watched the first 3 eps of the cartoon on Netflix, and it was interesting, but for some reason I stopped watching and just never went back.

It suffers from the same problem anime does in general -- a pace only slightly faster than your average baseball game. There are some impressive "watch two giants beat the shit out of each other" fights, though.

EDIT: I initially thought you meant this.

The cartoon had a whole lot of "Why don't they just..." moments and only answered some of them. Can't imagine it'll be any better in a shorter format. so this is pretty clearly a movie for people who are already fans.

Think I'm a season into it. Can't remember. Probably important to point out that the tech in the story is a bit behind modern times. No planes, no cruise missiles, no internal combustion engines. They ride around on horses and don't have gunpowder, either. However, they have walls taller and thicker than anything that you could make without a crane, so there's a bit of wtf going on. Furthermore, some genius made up this gadget which is like a suitcase that blasts out grappling hooks and ropes from any direction, which is how the soldiers spiderman between the buildings in town and trees in the forest to get close enough to take out a titan. Another important point: titans can heal from injuries that would take out Wolverine. There's a specific spot on their body and type of wound it takes to drop one permanently, and it's nowhere near the ground. Anything less means 100% regeneration in hours, even in cases of decapitation and dismemberment. They can't be starved and they don't need sleep. Don't think they even need oxygen.
