I think it has more potential for suckage than greatness.

50/50 shot of being worth watching.*

*Which is better than most of the re-hashes out there

What is this a rehash of?

err

Of what is this a rehash?

I was just comparing it to most other movies, which all seem to be rehashes lately. This one looks to be original IP, and that's why it might be ok.

Mila Kunis as someone who can't get a better job than cleaning toilets? No fucking way.

That is pretty far fetched, unless earth is already overloaded with hot women or something and being hot is no longer a commodity for a woman.

Was trying to decide what to watch on the flight when I noticed a podcast DLing. The newest How Did This Get Made? is about this film. Decision made.

This is not a good movie.

The action is fine, but the acting is not strong and the story is just terrible.

There is Soooooooo much that's unexplained and doesn't make sense. Unlike Mad Max:Fury Road you won't be wishing you had that information.

I look forward to listening to the podcast on my next flight in an hour.

Apparently the script was 600 pages, so they summarized that:
1. This was to be the start of a franchise.
2. They had to condense too much.

If a "director's cut" gets released that's longer, I'll check this movie out again.

I don't know what to think of this movie.

The character progression didn't make sense.... it seemed like, in her time, she was a cleaning lady, and then is nearly abducted, and when she wakes up she is getting attacked by aliens, and a couple hours later she is confirmed to be royalty, and after 5 minutes she is getting frisky with it, and an hour later is quoting legalese to people much better at that game, and...... yeah.

I will buy the director's cut, if it ever exists. Seems like a lot was left out.

This review sums it up much better:
It has Mila Kunis as Space Cinderella, Eddie Redmayne as Space Dracula, Channing Tatum as a wolfman with rocket shoes, and effeminate gay stereotype robots filling out forms at the Space DMV. Space Dracula's evil master plan is to suck the goo out of earthlings so he can bathe in it and then sell the magical goo for a huge profit. It ends with Wolfman and Cinderella punching out Dracula and blowing up his goo factory (at least I think that's what happened, I was half asleep at this point because this turd is over two hours long). I wish I could say this movie was intentionally campy, but it seems to lack any self awareness and is exactly the kind of thing that would have been featured on MST3K.
