WTF? This is real?
I saw this in my FB feed yesterday and figured it was a parody of Lifetime movies, but it's apparently real and airing this weekend.

Wait... they are all playing it straight?

Also, it’s all set to a dramatic cover of Mike & The Mechanics’ “Silent Running,” which is a song that makes any trailer better.
This could give Sharknado a run for its money.

Wait ... what?
But it's Will Ferrell. It can't be serious.

This was all due to a press leak. Verdict is...
.
.
.
.
spoof.
“A Deadly Adoption” is a two-hour dramatic thriller that stars Ferrell and Wiig in a story of an adoption that goes horribly wrong that is also a tongue-in-cheek sendup of, well, classic Lifetime movies.

It's Wiig and Ferrell, how could it have been anything but a parody?

Wait, you know it's not scrapped, right? That was just a joke.

For the first time ever I had to find where Lifetime is in my channel guide and set the DVR for something on it.

Watched it with the wife last night. It's awful. Beyond awful. The plot is hilariously bad.
Was that the point? If so, I missed it when they were winking to the camera. Or maybe I didn't? Pay attention anytime they're talking about dates. Nothing matches up. Not in a "she couldn't have done that" sense, but in a " wait a minute, the words on screen just said 6 months later, but you just said it happened 3 years ago..." sense. If I remember correctly, every time time is discussed it's wrong. Was that the wink? Was it every scene being shot as if it was produced by a local high school? Or the lack of any quality acting?
As for what's covered in the movie, it's basically every Lifetime movie rolled up into one except for domestic abuse.
I don't know. If this was a parody, they failed to make me laugh. I cannot recommend it, but I hope Catt watches it to agree with me or tell me what I missed.

Saw it. I was underwhelmed. Maybe if one's a Lifetime movie fan, it's got a different feel. Buddy of mine's wife is of that ilk.

2.1 million people watched. IMDB says 5.7.
Maybe here's the problem, Leisher?
Even if it's made by comedians (it was written by The Spoils of Babylon's Andrew Steele), A Deadly Adoption looks and feels like the real thing — which is the whole point. You need several thousand hours of Dying To Belong or Deadly Vows or The Babysitter's Seduction under your belt just to get it.

My wife has seen a Lifetime movie or two and she mocked it along with me, so I don't know?
I guess I'll just walk away knowing it was such a good parody it fooled me.
And yes Catt, you should watch it. Simply because it's a bad movie that will make you and your marvel that it was on TV.
Pay attention to the dates.
