Coincidentally, apparently Lynch put a casting call out for new footage.

Coincidence because I have been watching Twin Peaks on Netflix, lately, for my first watch-through. I am half way through the second season. Didn't want to start the thread til I was done, to avoid spoilers, but then that news popped up.
So.

Bleh. After Fire Walk with Me I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Is that season 2, or was there a sequel even after that?

It's a prequel shot after the show ended.

Snap. And it sucked?

It did not do well in this country. What kills it is that it's supposed to lead up to the series and it's kind of ... just eh. If you've already started watching the series, don't watch the flick until you're done. It'll absolutely destroy the former.

So that's how it ended??? Two seasons, and it ends with that? Worst blueballs I have ever seen from a TV series. It makes me think Netflix is missing the REAL last episode, or something.... does it really end with Coop laughing and asking, "How's Annie?"

The final episode of that series was infamous.

Honestly wish I'd just read the wikipedia article at this point and skipped investing all that time watching it when I could just have rewatched Game of Thrones again.

If you made it through two seasons, check Fire Walk with Me.

Nah. I was never interested in the back story to begin with. The show went with the Laura Palmer mystery in season 1, and somewhere completely different season 2. I thought the "no one is ever what they seem" message in season 1 was apt.... everybody in that town had secrets in spite of their public persona.... but then season 2 went all Twilight Zone.

One thing I did like was whoever wrote those teenagers... really knew their shit. They were just so intense and sincere and stupid.
"I pledge to you that we will always be best friends, forever." Played straight. Holy shit.

... and completely fucked.
The film-maker and co-creator of the original 1990s show said on Twitter on Sunday: “After one year and four months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.”
