Skinny Will Forte (he's almost unrecognizable) is the last man on Earth in this TV series...
How the fuck is this going to be a compelling series? To their credit, I'll be tuning in out of curiosity.

I really don't know how you'd keep that going for even an entire season.
Unless. Of course... he's either not the last man on earth or he is the last man on earth.

Well, I just went to IMDB, spoiler (didn't watch the video, so not sure what it covers)
The survival of the human race depends on two strangers forced to come together despite their differences.
So... last man it is.

I think "Y: The Last Man" will be far more compelling...if anyone gets around to making it...

World's shortest horror story: "The last man on earth is sitting in a room. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door."

Will Forte is the last man in the world, possibly. He spent a couple years roaming the country in an RV looking for survivors after a virus wiped out the species, but didn't find anyone.
Then something happens.
This show has some pretty good chuckles, and possibly a laugh or two, and I like what they are doing with the concept. I will continue watching it. So far you have only missed the first hour, which seems like it was 2 separate episodes. So catch up and set your DVR so Fox sees ratings and doesn't cancel it after 6 episodes.

Good news: I also have it DVRed!
Bad news: DVRing doesn't count towards ratings.
It doesn't count because:
1. You can FF through the ads.
2. You might watch it a month later when ads aren't relevant.

Nothing like clinging to last century's biz model.

I thought I heard that as long as you watch it within a week, it counts.

I wasn't 100%, so I looked it up.... according to this, yeah, networks pay attention to DVR numbers.

Two things:
1.
Advertisers fought this change because the ratings boosts from Live Plus meant higher advertising rates, and Nielsen now reports live and Live Plus numbers separately.
If advertisers don't accept them, it doesn't mean shit. They are the boss here, not the networks and certainly not Nielsen. The networks can do whatever they want with those numbers, but getting paid for them makes them relevant.
2. You want to talk about clinging to outdated business models...

Yeah, at this point network TV choices are being driven almost entirely by people that still use VCRs; primarily the elderly and people afraid of computer technology.
Fortunately there's plenty of other ways to be entertained now.

This show will be hard to discuss without spoilers.
So far, I've really enjoyed it, although the end of the third episode left me concerned.

I noticed last night that they're now running ads with the spoiler in them.
So can we start talking openly here about the series now?
Gordo - the thing he linked you saw if you watched the first two episodes.

I saw it in an ad the day after episode two aired.
Haven't watched the show yet, but honestly it was bound to be so to even have a show. It's really not that much of a spoiler.

Ah, gotcha.
Yeah, there really is no wrong way to use a margarita pool.

All I know is that if he doesn't take advantage of the opportunity presented to him at the end of episode 3, then I will quit the show.
Science says he has to, right?
(I'm avoiding spoilers because it's a different plot device than the previously spoiled plot device.)
