Reboot. It's right there in the first paragraph.

And it's a trilogy...like your mom.

This is going to suck.
It's clear from this article that the movie makers think the original movie was good. It was awful. The TV series(es) was(were) good, but that had nothing to do with the original movie. Rebooting and aiming for more of that original movie will result in more awful movies, not good Stargate.

It was awful.
THANK YOU!
For years I've been thinking I'm the only one who didn't get the allure of Stargate.
Nice to hear someone else point out that it sucked.

Oh, yeah. It's a bad movie.
I still enjoyed it, as one does a bad movie. And it ultimately inspired a phenomenally good TV universe. But it was a bad movie. The script was clearly written by jotting down all the sci-fi cliches and tossing them in a hat to pick out what order to do them all in.
EDIT: I just remembered seeing it in the theater, when at one point I leaned over to my friend and told him "insert slow-mo death-of-friend scene here" just moments before the start of the slow-motion scene showing Skaara's idiot friend getting killed. It was that cliched.

I really hate that Kurt Russel got old. I have been missing new action films from him for years.

You both wanted to co-star with James Spader in Crash.

That was a brilliant comedy.

I'd imagine Stargate would be considered gay bashing today. I know there was some talk about 300 being anti gay because Xerxes was effeminate.

Another awful movie.
When it comes to Spader movies, I much preferred Secretary.

I didn't think it was a bad movie. I just thought it was a horribly predictable color by numbers anti-racism film.

I believe you're all thinking of this film. It's the most famous film with that name, and Spader wasn't in that.
I'm referring to this terrible film in which James Spader is a guy who discovers he gets horny during car accidents, and later gets into a crash with the other male lead and fucks him. That's the scene I was implying Vince and Gordo wanted to be in with Spader.

I thought he was banging some chick in that movie.

I .... um .... what?
Huh. Now I feel I must watch this, even though I know it's going to hurt my brain.
