Literally, Yay, Netflix, because this is an original show that they made.
A NYC mobster, Steven Van Zandt, goes into witness protection... in Norway... by request. Fun fish out of water.
I watched episode 1, and pretty good, so far. It is fun to imagine that Silvio Dante from the Sopranos went into WitSec.

Second episode: still funny. He is falling back on what he knows... persuasion, love of confrontation, and complete lack of respect for personal space.

Up to episode 6 (of
. The show remains solid. Goes in directions you don't expect... the actor and character are cliche wiseguys, but the story is not.
Lilyhammer itself is a character. It's interesting.

Season 2 is up. I watched the first episode and had forgotten how much I like this show. He's like a NICE mobster.

I think the best part of the show is the fact there isn't the impending sense of doom hanging over everything that you had in The Sopranos. And speaking of that show, wait until you see the last episode of season 2. OMG.
I like how the NY snitch legitimately loves his new country. There is very little cynicism, and when he does his gangster shit it is almost always because he is trying to make it a nicer place. Very strange show.
Looking forward to season 3.

Season 3 is very meh. Uneven and meanders. It is still light hearted without the impending sense of doom, but.... just meh.
Last episode of the season was the best episode.
