That's a good idea because people like that old stuff, like The Lone Ranger.

Robin Hood can work.

I mean, despite what you might think of the movies, they were profitable.

I expect they'll really stretch the lore and turn it into some sweeping epic with massive armies and/or magic.

As for The Lone Ranger it just never had a chance, and that's on Hollywood. This was a great example of them just being out of touch. Nobody gives a fuck about this character, and to make it worse, the theme is "Western". Westerns traditionally aren't box office giants.

Saw a plot outline for a novel I think I may have to download. King Richard dies and this guy thinks it's only a matter of time before he gets replaced in his appointed job. So he decides to create his own nest egg before that happens. He starts diverting tax money from the treasury to his pocket and blames the shortfall on some whacky do gooder who's stealing from the tax collectors and giving the money away to poor people. Now the crown is sending an investigator and the Sherriff of Nottingham has to convince the investigator of his lie.

Sounded like a really neat concept.

If anyone's interested, I'll see if I can find the author's name later.

I'm picturing a GotG-esque intro of Robin Hood and his band of thieves walking in...

BBC had a really good version of Robin Hood as well. Saw it on Netflix. It was a TV series, so no flashy special effects and stuff, but was done really well. They really fucked shit up in ways you wouldn't have thought of, but really made for a good story.
