Kick Ass 2 got really dark in the book. I doubt they'll go the same route for the film.

Jim Carrey won't support this film even though he's in it.
See, since Sandy Hook, he now feels like he can't support this violence.
There's a link in there where the writer offers up a counter point, and then quite awesomely, calls on Carrey to donate his entire salary from this film to Sandy Hook families.

I don't understand Jim Carrey's outburst about the violence in this film. Sure, it's there, but the most prominent gun was his, and...(you'll see). Let's just say that his character agreed with his real life stance, so I don't get his public objection to the film except for publicity.
The film itself is entertaining. It strongly follows the book throughout the film, unlike the first movie, which only did so half way. I don't remember the fate of the villain, but for some reason I don't think it matched the book.
It's funny, but Kick Ass himself is the heart of this movie, but not really the entertaining part. He simply drives the movie forward with his story. The comedy comes from the new heroes he hangs out with, and the action comes from hit girl, who again steals the movie.
Dare I say the acting is actually pretty decent? No seriously, there are some solid performances here despite the material. Even the villains, who correctly play their roles WAY over the top, do a great job.
Watch out for Chloe Mortez (Hit Girl). Barring some mental meltdown, she'll be a household name within the next 10 years. And Aaron Taylor-Johnson got SHREDDED for this role. Without the Carrot Top haircut, he'd probably make the teenage girls, and Gordo get all wet in their panties.
The most amazing thing to me about both Kick-Ass movies? I was able to watch Nic Cage, Jim Carrey, and John Leguizamo without being distracted for even a second thinking about their prior work or their off screen issues.
That last paragraph has me thinking the Kick-Ass films are very underrated.
Anyway, see this film. It's fun, vulgar, gory, funny, and has tons of action.
Final note: Kick Ass 3 is currently being published over at Marvel. Apparently, it's the finale to the Kick-Ass story, so we may get one more film.

Robin wishes he were me
There was some strong acting, but not by the two leads. Either the writing or the acting (or both) were simply lacking in emotional scenes.
I dunno, the first film was pretty awesome. The second felt rote and unoriginal. Interesting pieces, but nothing like the original.

I thought he pulled off that do when he took off his mask and he was all beaten and bloodied. Looked cool.
I don't think I liked it as much as the first movie, but it was good.

No. The first one wasn't that great. This one wasn't any better.
The weakest link in the entire chain is the Motherfucker. Just retarded.
