People shit on this guy but he is a genius. He saw that a large majority of the world like stuff that sucks and he makes it for them.

Shredder looks like Sauron's less successful cousin.

Poster causes "controversy."

Even with the release, date, no this isn't offensive or "too close to home." For the same reason that seeing a plane flying over a ship in on December 7 doesn't make me double over with uncontrollable memories of Pearl Harbor.

Maybe not to you, but for thousands of New Yorkers it probably is. I'm not offended by it, but I can see where others that are closer to the tragedy might be. I suspect the marketing guys behind the poster (if it's even real) weren't expecting this to even be seen here in the states. Otherwise I'd have to move it up a couple of notches on the "offensive" scale.

Whatever. I've barely seen the one Simpsons episode anymore where Homer has to go to NY to get his car unbooted. I suppose seeing the animated versions of those tower are a bit much for some folk, especially if the show happens to rerun on September 11. I was around St. Louis for the Flood of '93. I guess everyone needs to be careful drawing arches near water when I'm around.

If there were a closer resemblance of the building to the towers I would get it. If there were a plane flying into the building I would get it. But the only relationship is the unfortunate date, and that's not enough for me to get it. This is silly.

Some people are overly sensitive. I don't think you'll ever be accused of having that problem.

I think it's more the image of people (or turtles) leaping from the burning building with that date below. That was a pretty horrific sight (the people, not the turtles).

Guess we better change the emergency number in this country. Making someone call 9-1-1 to report a building on fire might seem insensitive.

Okay, your feelings have been noted.

I wonder if the people who act upset at inappropriate times are actually mentally broken, fully sociopathic, and are actually just pretending to have normal emotions so no one begins to suspect them of being mentally ill and deciding to check their basement for bodies.
