As the title suggests, it's a longer cut of the director's two-part martial arts/vengeance epic, the most notable inclusion being a 30 minute anime sequence.
Could go either way.

I guess I'm the only person that didn't think these were great. They were entertaining, but I really didn't see them as any more than a martial arts version of the Expendables (without actual martial artists).

You could argue that part 1 was like The Expendables because it was an homage to martial arts films, and The Expendables is an homage to action movies.
However, part 2 was a completely different beast. Far, far less gratuitous violence. More dialogue.

1) Volume I was quite good. Volume 2 was quite average. "Quite average" is crap for Tarentino.
2) I don't know about The Expendables but...
Aside from the actors in there (Bride, Bill, and the rest of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad), there were two rather major kung fu cameo dudes:
i) Gordon Liu (general of the Crazy 88 and Pai Mei), major martial arts star in Asian kung fu flicks and still a big time stuntman everywhere
ii) Sonny Chiba (Hattori Hanzo), the B-movie version of Bruce Lee

Best part of Expendables franchise was in II when Chuck Norris told a Chuck Norris joke.

This sounds way too long to be worth watching. I like it as two movies.
