There really aren't that many mass shootings in the US. I'd rather go by assisted suicide than slow decline and hospice.
Don't tell that to CNN whenever a straight white man does one.
Me too. However, go get on Canadian X and you'll find many talking about how people are getting told to kill themselves when they're not terminal.TheCatt wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 5:48 pm I'd rather go by assisted suicide than slow decline and hospice.

There are lots of ways to solve the housing crisis.Leisher wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 3:48 pm However, go get on Canadian X and you'll find many talking about how people are getting told to kill themselves when they're not terminal.
That's expensive as fuck. He's been in that hospital NINE YEARS fighting for basic care while they keep asking if he'd rather just die.
Truth. It's why they wanted to kill him. In the U.S., they'd fight to keep him alive. 1 point to Capitalism.TheCatt wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:10 amThat's expensive as fuck. He's been in that hospital NINE YEARS fighting for basic care while they keep asking if he'd rather just die.
In the US, he'd be paying a shit ton.Leisher wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:12 amTruth. It's why they wanted to kill him. Yeah, that's why I said they'd fight to keep him alive. Again, capitalism.
"Your insurance denied your stay after 1 week, enjoy rotting at home."Leisher wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:19 am Also, I don't think he'd be there 9 years in an American hospital. Better doctors (all of Canada's best are here), better care, and they treat beds a lot like tables in a restaurant. Turn and burn!
That was his workplace insurance. Actually, he ended up getting fired due to his neurological disorder first.Leisher wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:39 am Get a job so you have better insurance or move to Canada and get murdered. Your choice.
I was extending the US story. So that was the American version of him.
This is fair. Corporations are absolutely allowed to do whatever the fuck they want here.TheCatt wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 11:29 am Actually, he ended up getting fired due to his neurological disorder first.
There's no law preventing this. There are some laws around disabilities and accommodations, but if he can't do the job, he's fired. He could do an unpaid FMLA for a while, perhaps, I don't know those details. But that just delays the inevitable.Leisher wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 1:06 pm There's something written down that prevents that. It's called a "law". I know. Sounds made up.
I think it depends on your state. Also, who said he couldn't work remotely? You're jumping to really big conclusions.TheCatt wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 1:10 pm There's no law preventing this. US healthcare sucks. Just differently.
