No, there are many tigers, but only one World War Z. Your analogy is too general, it needs to refer to a more individual entity.

It's like going to the zoo because they are displaying one of the last white rhinoceros, but instead it's a hippo they've painted white and duct-taped a horn to.

Eh. It's like I went to the zoo and there was an elephant in the tiger cage. I don't care if the sign says "This is a tiger,"

I don't want an elephant; I want a tiger. I spent the past few months brushing up on my tiger books and I'm confronted with something completely different than what the literature contains.

I get it. All y'all's betrayal is legitimate. No sarcasm.

I choose to hold out hope that someone will do the book correctly, like AMC or HBO. Prolly 10-part HBO miniseries (which would be perfect) since AMC wont want to become the "Zombie Show Channel."

Until then, WWZ is not the worst zombie movie ever made. Even if they are fast. And nothing in the movie even really proved they were dead.

No, there is no possibility of the book being made into a series now. There was before, but no longer. Now this movie is now the true canon of the franchise and the book is incorrect and unimportant. At least that's how studio and network executives will look at it. If they do make a World War Z series it will be based completely on the movie.

Now the soonest a real reboot may occur would be twenty to thirty years from now, when the movie is long forgotten but the book is still a cult classic.

Well not with that attitude!

I'll change my opinion when the real Starship Troopers comes out.

The real "The Shining" came out.

Like 20 years later.

Oh, here's a question I meant to ask: can a C-130 cargo plane take off from an aircraft carrier? It did in this movie.

I think it was a C-130, it was from a distance. I only assume because that's the most common model in the world.

edit - I guess the answer is "Yes, dumbass."

World War Z is a $200M bet on whether or not Brad Pitt + zombies can be interesting enough to turn a profit.

Verdict is ... profitable, particularly overseas.

Jobs Hollywood needs. Note #1. Fuck it.
Image
Every single movie in production needs a person whose only job is to read the book, then slap the director with it every time they say "Yeah, but what if ..."

This is an interesting point. Because they explicitly state it at the WHO with all the scientists around, like everyone knows, but they never actually say it or show it.

This movie was OK, except for all the holes:
Israel has a massive wall, patrolling troops and helicopters, but no one actually thinks to LOOK at the wall?
You leave the guy who doesn't know what he's looking for, call him, but DONT TELL HIM WHAT TO GET?
You have a weapon in your hand, and are surrounded by hostile zombies. You put down your weapon because you need to enter a code into a door with one hand. Ummmm.
You have a pen and paper in your hand, and rather than show the vials to the video camera, with messages like "Hey, call the room and let the phone ring once if I should take this. Three times if it will kill me," you put a message about your family, and roll the dice?
