2016 General Election Thread

@NDelRay did what she said she would do...kind of...
I guess this is NSFW?
I call that weak sauce. If you're not even in a bra and panties it's not NSFW. Yet another person who made a claim about the election who didn't follow through.
She's gone from over 300,000 reputation points on Imgur to now having -8,000. Ouch.

No one keeps election promises any more.
It's not me, it's someone else.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
With these recounts happening, do you think the democrats will be only counting votes verified with ID, now that they finally think there might be malfeasance? They should just call Malcolm and he can tell them they are all idiots and it never happens.
You can't even vote in my district without an ID. I don't know how they get away with that. You swipe your ID first thing before they even open the voter logs.

Still waiting for the first mega-indictment. I assume it'll happen after Dipshit Drumpf drains the swamp and replaces it with his style of filth.GORDON wrote:With these recounts happening, do you think the democrats will be only counting votes verified with ID, now that they finally think there might be malfeasance? Re: 2016 General Election Thread
It occurred to me this morning when I was thinking about how I would have to make alternate plans to see my mother on Christmas since I didn't feel welcome at the family gathering that when all of these old crazy, Hillary loving people, who went off the deep end at the election, when they die, I am going to slip some sort of Trump paraphernalia into their coffins so they can spend their final eternal rest with Donald J. Trump.

You'll never do it, but I respect the thought.GORDON wrote:It occurred to me this morning when I was thinking about how I would have to make alternate plans to see my mother on Christmas since I didn't feel welcome at the family gathering that when all of these old crazy, Hillary loving people, who went off the deep end at the election, when they die, I am going to slip some sort of Trump paraphernalia into their coffins so they can spend their final eternal rest with Donald J. What might be better is to throw this thought on Facebook. Put it into the wind and see where it goes. Watch as people go crazy threatening you for an act you won't even commit.

Jill Stein -- still high as a fucking kite.
Last month, Stein launched a fundraising campaign to pursue a recount in Pennsylvania, as well as in Michigan and Wisconsin — three states President-elect Donald Trump narrowly won en route to his Electoral College victory. That campaign — which sought to "ensure the integrity of our elections," according to her website — proved wildly successful, raking in nearly $7 million in donations to fund the former candidate's efforts.

Funerals aren't for the dead, they are for the living, and the dead don't give a shit. If they want to fuck up the relationships they have with living people, they can enjoy an eternity spent with a button of a politician they hate. The living will feel better.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
Republican elector writes oped about why he won't vote Trump and the MSM are just jacking each other off about it.
First, let's not pretend that if this was a Dem in an election won by a Dem, the MSM would be crucifying his/her ass.
Going further, I think I completely disagree with this person's stance. Trump is a dick, yes. He may not be presidential. However, the people told you who to vote for, and who the fuck are you to go against their wishes? It's that type of arrogant thinking that leads to nanny states.

I don't disagree with his thinking, it's a large part of the reason we have an electoral college instead of direct democracy.
It's not me, it's someone else.
Re: 2016 General Election Thread
Will enough of them cross over to make a difference? Also I bet he is so fired.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
He thinks, correctly I might add, that he's an elector and can vote any goddamn way he chooses. On the flip side, the author seems equally touched in the head. However, the people told you who to vote for, and who the fuck are you to go against their wishes?
Fucking wow.For me, America is that shining city on a hill that Ronald Reagan envisioned. It has problems. It has challenges. These can be met and overcome just as our nation overcame Sept. 11.
Let's check out exactly what a demagogue is.Federalist 68 argued that an Electoral College should determine if candidates are qualified, not engaged in demagogy, and independent from foreign influence. Mr. Trump shows us again and again that he does not meet these standards. Given his own public statements, it isn’t clear how the Electoral College can ignore these issues, and so it should reject him.
You can level that charge at a ridiculous number of presidents.a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation.
... is this dude aware that's a work of fiction? He has surrounded himself with advisers such as Stephen K. Bannon, who claims to be a Leninist and lauds villains and their thirst for power, including Darth Vader. “Rogue One,” the latest “Star Wars” installment, arrives later this month. I am not taking my children to see it to celebrate evil, but to show them that light can overcome it.
We can only hope.Mr. Trump does not understand that the Constitution expressly forbids a president to receive payments or gifts from foreign governments. We have reports that Mr. Trump’s organization has business dealings in Argentina, Bahrain, Taiwan and elsewhere. Mr. Trump could be impeached in his first year given his dismissive responses to financial conflicts of interest.
Not even close. Will enough of them cross over to make a difference?

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
I agree that I don't disagree with his thinking. I disagree that Trump is a douche to the level of disqualifying the election. And that's the thing (for me). If some new information came to light after the election that would have been disqualifying had it been known before, I can see the EC voting some other way. Say it became known after the election that the PEOTUS was involved with coordinated voter fraud on a huge scale. That should disqualify the PEOTUS and the election results. You really shouldn't impeach and let the VPETUS take office.TheCatt wrote:I don't disagree with his thinking, it's a large part of the reason we have an electoral college instead of direct democracy.
All that being said, there's no new evidence that Trump is some sort of douche bag moron that wasn't evident to all that cared to see it before the election. So no compelling case to not vote as indicated by your state.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
Florida hand recount? Fucking really?
And Michigan.
And Michigan.
A single missing ballot was enough to scuttle the recount of a Michigan precinct Monday.
The computerized poll book in Rochester Hills precinct 11 listed the names of 848 voters who cast ballots there, but the ballot box contained just 847 ballots. So where is the other ballot? The poll workers' notes offered no explanation.
"It didn't match on the canvass and it doesn't match now," said Joe Rozell, Oakland County's director of elections. "This precinct is not recountable."
