The Avengers

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Blu Ray is good, obviously. Joss Whedon could teach a masterclass on directing movies and writing screenplays.

There's another "Marvel: One Shot," called "Item 47." Looks a lot like the premise of the upcoming SHIELD tv show. I am betting that Agent Sitwell will be in the show.

This comic came out a while back, but the Iron Man part cracks me up.

My 10th or 12th viewing today (blu ray), I noticed for the first time that Agent Sitwell (I think that is his name... the bald guy from the One Shot) from "Item 47" is on the helicarrier, and actually has a line which I believe he says to Coulson.

Never noticed that before. And like I said, I have a feeling he is going to factor strongly in the SHIELD tv show.

Malcolm brought up Whedon's need to be raped by dozens... scores, even... herpes infested dildos, and it made me realize something:

Black Widow is a potential slayer that was either pre-pubescent when Buffy/Willow activated them all, or was in the clutches of KGB training and wasn't able to join her in Sunnydale.

Natasha is very obviously a Slayer.

And I think Buffy may be in Avengers 2.

Hawkeye, the Avengers' answer to Aquaman.

Actually, Hawkeye is pretty bad ass. In the books he's always been a complete asshole to Captain America, and I'm pretty sure he banged every chick that's ever been in The Avengers.

I'd say Giant Man is The Avengers' answer to Aquaman.

He's a founding member, the least interesting person on the team, beat his wife, created their arch-enemy Ultron, constantly looks for validation for his brains and abilities, feel in love and fucked a robot he made after his wife "died", and should probably be a super villain.

By the way, when DC relaunched their books, they made Aquaman cool again, and his book is among the best selling in the market. Not kidding.

He's both.

"Pym particles" make him get smaller or bigger.

He was an ok guy in the recent, and good, Avengers cartoon.

Who is Wasp? She liked him.

I know way too much about comics...

Wasp is Janet van Dyne, and she married him. She's also a founding member of the Avengers, and was recently presumed dead, but she wasn't...of course.

In the regular Marvel universe, they have had problems, and I'm pretty sure he struck her in an issue in the 60s or 70s.

In the ultimate Marvel universe (think alternate timeline), he smacked her around, sprayed her with Raid, and then made his ants attack her. Don't worry, she survived...until the Blob, literally, ate her.

He needs to start a cross-universe support group with the Green Arrow for "superheroes who picked shitty signature weapons." Also, being an asshole to Captain America isn't too hard.

"Ok, Avenger role call. Let's see, billionaire with a flying metal suit that shoots rockets and lasers? Check. Supersoldier injected with kick-ass serum and boomerang shield? Check. Norse deity with holy hammer? Present. And a radioactive green giant that can literally pick up and move mountains? Ok, that's everyone. The pussy with the bow and arrow, get the fuck out, we don't need you."

First of all, Green Arrow is comics' biggest liberal. No joke. He was ridiculously polarizing if you had even the slightest conservative views. His whole story was indutrialist turned Robin Hood. So he's a dick.

Secondly, Hawkeye is a ladies man and is bad ass enough to hang with a Hulk, Iron Man, a god, and a super soldier. Only Iron Man pulls more pussy.

Third, as was once stated in a book, and I'm paraphrasing:
"He didn't just disagree with Cap, he crazy disagreed. If Cap said he likes Thanksgiving, Hawkeye would say Thanksgiving sucks, turkey sucks, Cap sucks, and he quits."

In the ultimate Marvel universe Hawkeye is a full on bad ass who will kill you if you get in his way. Over in that timeline, Black Widow betrayed the team and Hawkeye rewarded her with an arrow through her skull.

I'm sure whenever they need an archery target's bulls-eye taken out, he's the man ... provided the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America are out making a beer run or something.

You need to watch the movie so you can see him fleshed out a little bit.

I can buy Batman, a normal human, hanging with with and getting respect from a group of demi-gods, aliens, and metahumans because he's the fucking Batman and his paranoia reaches levels that makes the bastard offspring of Stalin and Kim Jong Il look well adjusted. I never got that vibe from Hawkeye.

He is used exactly as he should be during all parts of the movie.
