I saw a re-reun of early episode of The Walking Dead.
Those zombies moved really fast. They literally ran after Rick in Atlanta when he hopped the fence.

I know the zombies have had a lot of wear and tear over year or so since the initial outbreak, so they move slow now.

However, I think the creators forgot how fast "fresh" zombies moved because now the new ones move really slow.

Got to be one hell of a long list.

The speed of the zombies is addressed in the books.

Like World War Z, people discover that colder climates are the best as the weather slows the zombies down to a crawl.

Except for that one teleporting Zombie that got Dale in the field. It was ahead of the game.

I've seen the show producers say that the winters slows the zombies down and general wear and tear makes them slower.

That doesn't explain why fresh kills like Merle become the slow/stumbling zombies we're all used to instead of the fast zombies we saw earlier in the series.

SPOILERS at this link for both TWD and Toy Story.
Toy Story and The Walking Dead have very similar stories.

What I saw was funny, but there were a couple of reaches.
