I think ideally we need a bloodless coup to reboot the country. Anybody currently in office is banned for life is rule one.

If you want the second half enforced, you'll need to violate the first half eventually.
I'm just saying their influence is lessened when there is a national crisis or a goal that we all are striving to achieve.
I can't say I know of any war in history which lessened bullshit. Conflict brings its own baggage, and I'd argue that conflict greatly fucks with one's ability to analyze what may or may not be bullshit. The immediacy of the conflict tends to make one take paths which look completely idiotic after the fact. It provides an excuse for one to be hasty.
It's like your girlfriend always being worried about those pants making her look fat, but who gives a crap about that when the house is on fire put on the damn pants so we can go outside before we die!
Regular nightly fires are not the way to solve someone's self-image problems when wearing certain pants.

Can't cut/paste on my cell phone.
Gfriend: do these pants make my ass look fat?
Punch her in the nose.
"Do you still care about the pants?"
If the answer is yes, goto 10.

Agreed.

No. Those are different types of bullshit. It's comparing apples to bowling pins.
You're talking about a man or a small group of men making decisions when faced with an obstacle versus society as a whole throwing every fucking thing they can think of at a wall and even if it doesn't stick saying it did.
That's probably a terrible analogy, but I hope the point is there.
"Sir, Japan refused to surrender. Do we drop the bomb inflicted horrible casualties on their side or invade and inflict horrible casualties on both sides?"
Vs.
"Oh my God! I'm such an asshole because I'm white and thin! I have so many advantages!" (Meanwhile, 75% of the people on welfare are white.)

Bullshit is bullshit. The consequences and scope of your reactions to bullshit vary considerably.
I'm sure that some of those involved in dropping the nuke lost a fuckload of sleep. I have seen an interview with one of the surviving plane crewmen, however, and someone asked him if he'd ever lost any sleep over what he helped do. "Nope." Which is precisely the mentality you want when pulling the trigger. However, I'd like to be really, really fucking sure I have to pull out a gun to begin with. Prolonged conflict tends to wear down that filter in people's brains about the second part. For instance, Winston Churchill's crazy ass felt the need to start WWIII with the Soviet bloc less than a year after WWII ended. Think of all the bullshit that could've been done away with.
"Sir, Japan refused to surrender. Do we drop the bomb inflicted horrible casualties on their side or invade and inflict horrible casualties on both sides?"
That particular bullshit was created, in great part, because of bullshit peace negotiations 20 years prior. That happened specifically because the assholes at the table made a slew of useless and bad decisions at goddamn near lightspeed.
Your two examples are about external and internal bullshit, respectively. Some people react quite well to one and exceptionally badly to the other.

Bullshit is bullshit.
That is incorrect. Like anything, there are varying degrees.
For example: Someone trying to claim "bullshit is bullshit" so he can come out on top in a forum debate versus this:

Guess which one could have major ramifications to society if enough crazy/bored people listened to it, and which one is just some guy who has never admitted that he is anything but right?
You're in a thread where moronic, spoiled white people are complaining that their skin color has given them keys to the empire and other white people are claiming their skinniness has allowed them to succeed unfairly over fat people. What do you think a WWII survivor from any country would say to those concerns? Hey look, someone conveniently posted a video of a black expressing what she thinks of it!
While you are trying your best to wash the issue gray to save face or whatever, the fact remains this type of bullshit doesn't get created in times of crisis.
And honestly, this "debate" continuing is an example of stupid bullshit that occurs in times without crisis. So imagine me shooting my keyboard and muttering, "Boring conversation anyway."

I had the same opinion about vegetarians years ago... I made a front page post about it. I said I didn't trust anyone whose life was so easy and without real problems that they had to invent ones.... like a desire to not eat meat... in order to feel like a proper human being.

The dude wears that shirt like it is a bad thing.
Gosh, I wish my skin color was generally and universally considered to make me an untrustworthy person.

About a quarter of today’s pool of highly experienced software developers is female
As a former hiring manager, I call bullshit.

As someone who's worked at a couple large corporate places in IT, I also call bullshit. If 25% of the potential devs are women, then every HR person must be Andrew Dice Clay. Then again, the majority of HR folk I've seen are women...
