I have been seeing FB posts that all have the same argument: "It's because of prior racism."

Therefore people who weren't around and probably aren't racist themselves must now be punished. Because that's how you defeat racism, with more racism!

People like to be seen as virtuous, when they don't actually have any actual virtue to demonstrate. "Racism" is an easy flag to fly.

tl;dr - people are generally pathetic.
