IMHO, they nailed the movies I remember from my childhood perfectly.
It was the exact same formula.
And they did it despite some really bad acting.
It could have been better, but this was light years ahead of that piece of abortion from 1999.

Watched my blu ray tonight. Still loved it, still had some FUCK YEAH moments even on the second watch.
