Yard work.
I am taking my kid, but it'll be this week or next weekend.

Biggest opening weekend ever.
Over $600 million worldwide in 12 days. It has a legit shot of being the highest grossing movie ever.
I also have a hunch this is going to win some Oscars. The easy way out will be an effects Oscar, but I have a feeling it'll be nominated for Best Picture and Best Director.

You know what sucks about other people?
I am trying to read other forums about this film, and all most of them want to talk about is how fascist this movie is.
And their Star Trek II discussion is all about racism.
Seriously, other people are the worst.

I would stop going to those forums.
Also, you've got to recognize the motivations behind the bashing of popular movies like The Avengers and Star Trek.
We're talking about lonely, miserable people whose lives are so devoid of meaning that they try to prove their worth by acting morally and intellectually superior to the masses who enjoy these films. Thus, they try and achieve this by inventing ulterior motives for the filmmakers. Remember, it's always been "cool" to hate what's popular, but you need a reason...

On the same "people suck" note, peeps are mad because of India scene.
Because showing any reality is evil.
And on a funnier one...

Know what sucks?
I wanted to watch Thor and/or Captain America with my kid before we saw The Avengers on Sunday, so he would know who those characters were. Saturday night I am going through Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu looking to rent them. I had seen them for rent on Vudu before long ago, had never looked on the other two.
No longer available to rent, purchase only.
I didn't like that. Seems like they are trying to ride the Avengers bump to make some more sales, instead of rentals.
So guess what happened next.

The sequel has gone into production.
Disney/Marvel are currently reinventing film making.
I've seen a lot of talk over the past week wondering how the folks at Warner Brothers are reacting to The Avengers. WB owns DC, which means they could make a Justice League movie featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the greatest hero of all, Aquaman.

Looking forward to the next Thor/Cap/Iron Man movies, to see what they do with the aftermath, and..... SET UP FOR THE SEQUEL.
Can you buy tickets yet?

#1 again for the third straight week.
If it takes the top spot again next week...well, when is the last time a movie swept May?

Can't wait for my 3d Bluray to arrive so I can focus on Black Widow's leather-clad ass in 3d. A lot.

Apparently, there are a few of these "mini movies" on Marvel DVDs?
