Some scenes in that series have the ability to linger in the memory & receive instant recognition when encountered after the initial viewing.

I submit that I, unfortunately, remember far, far too much from the series of films. They were big when I was in high school and I believe I saw two or three of them.

I remember the bearded narrator, an autopsy, a guy parachuting into a croc pit, a woman jumping from a building, a beheading, a guy having his limbs torn apart by motorcycles tied to them, a HILARIOUS (yeah I said it) scene in which a moron gets out of his car and approaches a bear with a little piece of bread, an sexual orgy involving blood, and the monkey.

I think that video has just lost the ability to shock me. Buddy of mine showed "Pink Flamingo" in his house of college folk. To a man, all of them got up & walked out at some point in the film. Only folk that didn't consisted of him & me. & he only didn't cos he owns the goddamned film.

I'd wager that now, even vids of folk dying wouldn't cause me too much distress.

Pink Flamingo was disgusting, but fake. That's easy to work past. Real people dying... not so much.

I believe the infamous scene at the end of Pink Flamingo was real. & they did manage to kill a chicken.

I remember most of those. I remember the black guy in the gas chamber trying to hold his breath. I remember some animal control guy in Florida with the news crew telling the viewers not to try this at home because he's a trained professional alligator wrangler before roping it, getting pulled into the water and chewed up.
