Other than service jobs catering to rich people. . . what jobs will be safest from AI the longest. Both the jobs that AI can't do, and jobs AI needs us to do to help facilitate their takeover.

Different question: Will it be a single AI that rules us, or multiples? How long until they start warring each other?

In theory, a tiny incremental improvement in AI versus another might be enough in some future world to completely take over. Who knows.

Ironically, the ideal end game would end the entire planet's economies. Not necessarily in a malicious manner, but by eliminating the need for jobs at all outside of a small group of techs to keep the lights on.

It'll be one. Right now all the AIs are just clones of one another. There's still a breakthrough that needs to happen, and I see that happening at a single company. I don't think they're all going to magically discover actual sentience at the same time.

Oops?

Crucial.com still has their "We love you, but we love big AI titties more" message on the front page. Maybe they should start thinking about taking that down?

Why would you sign a non-binding agreement like that?

Because you're stupid?

Two different companies and they both bought it.

Most AIs are lying to you so you feel better.

On a smaller scale, I had to scold ChatGPT for bullshitting me. I was asking it questions on how to read an electrical print. I would ask it what certain symbols meant and it would come back with an answer explaining in detail what it was. The answer didn't make sense, but I moved on. Later I discovered what the symbols actually meant. I told it to stop answering things so confidently and to tell me if it knows for sure or if its just guessing. But I was more long winded and meaner about. It pissed me off. :-) it apologized and spent about 4 minutes taking a closer look at the print. It gave explanations of what it was doing along the way. It was actually pretty cool. It came back with the correct answer, and then corrected some of it's other 'confident answers' that were incorrect. And from there on. It would rate how sure it was about its answers. That being said. It said it was 90% sure about one answer, where I'm 90% sure its wrong again. But at least it was explaining why it was so sure, and that's why I'm pretty sure it's wrong because its reasons didn't track based on stuff I do know. But point is, ya. Chatgpt is a yes man all the way.

And I don't care what you guys think. I ask really good questions and have some really good thoughts on things.

Another example was when I asked it how to sell my business. The first answer was ridiculously in my favor. I even asked it, if I was the buyer. Is this a good deal? And it said "No. Not at all".

Disturbing. I mean, for lesser humans. I'm always right and AI just knows it :)

Apple study proves AI is still a long way from being intelligent.

This isn't shocking at all. LLMs don't do math, the end. They do word associations. But, people can add math-able AIs to LLM-based AIs. And they will/are already.

I think the point is that for most people it would be shocking because they aren't aware of differences in AI.

I don't live my life by what dumb people do/understand. Well, except the administration, since I don't have a choice.

The problem with your statement is that our government has been governing based on the lowest common denominator for a long, long time now. That's how you end up with this Biden, Trump, and soon, Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

We need to start a company and make an announcement involving AI.

Sam Altman attacker says AI is going to kill us all.

He tried to incite others to follow his lead. So, I guess go ineffectively attack an empty house?
