Maybe she got the job because she threatened to name names.

And the huge budget wasn't actually that high, creating a terrible show is how they hid the payoffs to her to shut her up.

I think she'd get in a ton of trouble naming names at this point? If she was part of the investigation and trial, but withheld information...?

Honestly, I think she's just another example of the toxic culture in Hollywood. She knew and likely aided in Weinstein's crimes. I don't mean held women down, but she certainly booked rooms, arranged meetings, played defense when he did not want interruptions, etc.

How does she still work in the town? Who wants to work with the woman who enabled and/or ignored rapes? A woman who has a small handful of garbage credits to her name that her rapist boss likely gave her for fun. How the fuck does that get you a massive budget and full creative control over a priceless franchise?

Disney deserves all of their failure. They spent billions on a franchise and then ran it into the ground thanks to piss poor management, nepotism, arrogance, and DEI/ESG.

Interesting tidbits hit this week:
1. Kathleen Kennedy retiring at the end of this year.
2. Followed a day later with her being defiant about that report.

So who knows?

3. A few sources have been adamant saying Feige's meeting at SW, remember that?, had him going in with a 5 point plan to save the universe that went over like a fart in church with Kennedy. That's why we've heard nothing of that since.

Still, as I'm going to point out elsewhere, Feige is planning to retire from Marvel after the X-Men reboot. Does he step over to SW if Kennedy is gone? Do they give Favreau the keys? Filoni, who has fallen out of favor with fans?

Disney has been course correcting lately, so it'll be interesting to watch. If Daredevil Reborn does huge numbers, like DvW did as well, it could make it even harder for Kennedy to keep justifying non-profitable woke SW projects.

It's May the 4th be with you, so here's a reminder that Kathleen Kennedy is even stupider than you remember.
Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels.
From an interview with Rolling Stone when she was asked about the difficulty of putting together Ep IX

In related news, it appears Disney is finally going to dump the Kennedy trilogy in favor of the OG.

Mandalorian and Gogu is tracking for the lowest opening in SW history.

Also, somehow the streaming numbers came out for May 4th and none of the new trilogy were in the top ten most watched SW movies/shows. The OG trilogy were 3 of the top 4 with The Phantom Menace being the other.
