Many were. But some others weren't. And occasional lynchings continued up into the 1960s.
How many of the knockout game videos feature someone of one race taking out someone of a different race. All of them I've seen have been that way. I think most of them are done out of the same casual racism and boredom as some of those lynchings were. But the world isn't as violent as it used to be, so the result is not as bad.
