S3 was pretty good, and is far more about the characters than the show (the show in this universe...) itself. There is a story line reason for that, which should be obvious based on the trailer.
Brie again shows off her tits and for an extended dancing scene this time. Someone else shockingly does an extended scene showcasing her body.
The alphabet people show up and are a sizable part of the story. It's because of certain characters' arcs and it works. It's not all roses either, so don't expect to be thumped over the head with a message. It, literally, just is, which is how it should be.
The time period continues to be a major star of the show. Watching how women were treated just 30-ish years ago is pretty funny. Also, everyone, as Gordon stated, just looks older. The 80s genuinely sucked for fashion, makeup, and hairdos.
I don't think it has jumped the shark yet, and I'm already looking forward to S4 based upon where the stories were left. But I hope the creators have an exit plan before the show starts declining.

I'm barely in S1... it's too slow.

I've not been enamored by S3. They're established, so now it's like they're hitting all the checkboxes... "I'm sad about racism." "I'm sad about being a working single mother." "I'm sad about being old and out of touch." "I'm married to a hot woman and might actually be gay."
Just speculating on that last one, but I think it's coming.

That has been hinted at since S1.

I mean, it's a drama about human beings. They need to emote to something.

Yeah, but ... In previous seasons, there was a lot of triumph in their success. Now it's a long crying jag. Not as fun.

Oh, I agree there was more "downer" material, but I think that's because they're setting up S4. They need the characters to have drama and obstacles to overcome for their happy endings.
Got to be honest, I agree with them. Some of the best characters were the women of color and they had really good subplots in the first two seasons. However, they disappeared in the third.
