What fucking insane asylum has semi-dark blue pants as standard issue?
"Hey, we need to give the inmates some pants. How about that bright, glow-in-the-dark orange?"
"Nah, we're out. Go with the dark blue surplus fabric."

Looks like I wasn't alone with my bad feeling based off what's been released so far...
Conventional wisdom seems to be that this movie is going to fucking suck.

Wow. A "fresh take" on the Joker.

Yeah, I don't have high hopes for this film.

Did someone say merch?
Products included in the merchandising roll-out will include traditional superhero movie merch — action figures from Mattel, prop replicas from eFX and other toys and accessories from DC Direct — and more high-end items, including a leather assortment from Matchless London and timepieces from Accutime Watch Corp.
Hot Topic, Bioworld Merchandising and Junk Food Clothing will release clothing lines based on the movie, with athletic wear available from Under Armour and cosplay costumes from Rubie's Costume Co. and Party City; decor inspired by the movie will also be released by Noble Collection, Franco Manufacturing and Trends International, amongst other manufacturers.
Additionally, HarperCollins and Titan Publishing will release books related to the movie (with DC's comic book arm also launching a new Suicide Squad title in August), with Hallmark, Huckleberry Toys, Trend Setters, Fashion Accessory Bazaar and Underground Toys in line to offer "paper products" inspired by the feature.

The trailers have such a, "We can be cool, funny, edgey, and Deadpooly, too. Oh shit, we can't actually say that last one," vibe.
Harley Quinn is trying to pass off like she's a mid '90s reject from a Jenny Jones taping.
Deadshot's look seems to be captured by the phrase, "Will Smith playing a homeless Desert Storm vet."
Captain Boomerang is the Aussie equivalent of white trash.

To be fair to GoG, it was put in August because even Marvel didn't think it would do well. They also didn't promote it like Suicide Squad is being promoted.
This is the most interesting movie of the summer to me. David Ayer isn't a hack, but this movie was made prior to BvS or at the same time and has gone through a lot of reshoots. If you remember the early trailers, there was no humor, but all these new trailers have humor. I wonder why...
They had what's his face talk as the Joker in one of the trailers. I'm not buying it yet. Still seems like a terrible casting choice and/or acting decision.
