Ok, I turned this into a spoiler thread, and I have finished the series, so read at your own go fuck yourself.
Overall...... interesting way to end it. The entire last part of the last season I was mentally screaming at Dexter to just leave.... leave the last kill alone.... but Dexter didn't do it. And in the end he regretted it.
I can't imagine being in such a dark place that I would leave my son. Yeah, I can imagine killing people plenty... but not that. So on the one hand I find that ending unrealistic, but that only applies to me... Dexter has been broken for a long time, so apparently he found that in him. Yeah, it can be argued that Dexter sacrificed his son for love... but I disagree with his decision. Nobody fucks with that kid while Dad is around.
I like to pretend that the ending... where he is killing trees instead of people... and he goes to his shack that he pays cash for... sits at his table... looks at the camera... that was the moment he decided the heat was off, and it was time to go to Argentina.

Also, has anyone before ever realized that in Six Feet Under that actor was always talking to his dead Dad, and it was the same in this show? I am sure no one ever realized this and I am a genius.
But geez.... totally copied the gimmick. Did both shows have the same creators, and are they just really trying to make a point that sons really take their fathers with them their whole lives?

As far as dexter not surviving the hurricane, we know he was pretty damned strong.... but I think he lack of body fat would actually work against him after his boat sank, heh. But I don't have a huge problem with this. The storm swell probably pushed him ashore pretty fast. I could probably tread water for a couple days if I had to. My secret is to have lots of body fat.

Had no idea. The fact I knew so little about the actor playing Dexter is why I looked him up in the first place on imdb.

It always creeped me out watching them play brother and sister knowing they are boinking.

I think the reverse would be ickier... actual siblings playing people who boink.

Check the movie Kickboxing Academy.
Chyler Leigh is the costar and love interest to Christopher Khayman Lee and throughout the movie they share a handful of intimate make-out scenes culminating in one awkwardly long kiss at the end. The beauty of these otherwise forgettable moments is that Christopher and Chyler are actually brother and sister.
