I did grad work in computer security for a reason. I really, really won't want to have to dust off that knowledge to surf the web on a daily basis. If the feds wage a cyber war on the citizens, they'll lose big and bad.

No, it means many of the workers that had their hours cut to 29.5 per week would be able to go back to working 39.5 hours per week and make more money. At least where I work that was the big impact of Obamacare; we didn't suddenly start handing out health care to part-time instructors, we cut them back and hired more of them to take up the slack.

DHS currently employs around 230,000 individuals. The 30,000 who would be furloughed would primarily be administrative staff.
