You're sinking in the polls and need to pull off a miracle. Naturally, you take shots at SNL. Because them parodying someone is completely unheard of.

When Trump first started up I wondered if maybe he was secretly working to divide the Republicans and help Hillary win. Then later I decided that was ridiculous; that he's just a complete douchebag. But lately - especially with the moves in Ohio, Virginia, and Florida - it's like he's trying really really hard to lose and I'm starting to wonder again.

Trump undermines Newt just in case he wasn't being clear enough.
On ABC’s “This Week,” Martha Raddatz asked Gingrich about Trump’s refrain that “they are attempting to rig the election.”
“So who are ‘they’ and how are they doing this?” Raddatz asked.
Gingrich replied that “they” are the media.
Trump opened Sunday with a series of tweets sowing doubt about the legitimacy of the election.
"The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary - but also at many polling places - SAD"
...
The intensity surrounding the election is building in the final weeks of the race. In the evening, Trump -- without evidence -- blamed the firebombing of a North Carolina local GOP office on supporters of Hillary Clinton.
"Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning @NCGOP," Trump tweeted Sunday night.
He again cited his argument that Clinton is the "ultimate career politician, enriching herself off of the rigged system for decades while getting NOTHING accomplished."
Funny, you can replace "politician" with "dimwitted corporate vulture" and it applies to Trump.

That would actually be a silver lining for the Republicans. CNN looks less biased thanks to MSNBC. A TNN would make Fox look like biased too.
Until it goes bankrupt in 12 months.
More fodder for the rumour

Pence: Trump and I will accept any election results.
Trump: It's rigged

6 elections in a row, and I refused to break my 100% streak. I've voted for at least 1 candidate from each of the 3 major parties, and I've never voted for a winning candidate.
His critique of Stein is that she's an idiot, yes.
His critique of Johnson less so, more about his ideology.

John Oliver is a skinny version of Michael Moore who does TV instead of movies. I'd say he should be on MSNBC, but I think he's too far left for them.
You know what changes minds? Being a completely smug asshole in the belief that your opinion is not only correct, but beyond reproach.
I'm, uh, I'm not a fan.

Well how am I not supposed to love him even MORE after he evokes that reaction?

Just know that if you swallow the shit he shovels you're on the same level as the folks who eat up Glenn Beck's garbage.

Does he have a funny bone? Of course. He's an entertaining person, although he wouldn't be where he is without Stewart, but that's a different topic.
I just don't understand why humor gets you a free pass to push a specific agenda of propaganda. Without the yucks, his show would be frightening.
We've all condemned folks like George Clooney for Oliver's level of smugness and condescension, but apparently it's because his message didn't have jokes.

IIRC Tina Fey did such a great Sarah Palin that people were attributing moronic things Fey made up to Palin herself.

Seriously though, funny is funny and it's entertaining. I think we all need to laugh at one another. I loved Stewart because he'd call both sides on their shit. He was liberal and left leaning, but he could admit when he or "his side" was wrong.
Oliver seems to have missed that little nuance. His humor towards the right is clearly filled with hate. He's completely transparent.
Stewart made me uncomfortable at times when he pointed out flaws in things I leaned towards using humor, logic, and facts. Oliver makes me mad because he ignores important facts because they don't fit his narrative or he uses half truths.
Like I said, I'm not a fan.
In related news, does anyone watch Bill Maher? Has he been bashing Trump's comments on women? If so, I'd love to know what he said because that's a guy with a history of treating women with disrespect.
