I'll post a review later as I'm pretty close to finishing it, but it's $3.99 for the next 40 hours on Steam, and that's pretty awesome. If you like the GTA games, this will be right up your alley.

This is a Grand Theft Auto style open world game.

You're Wei Shen, a police officer who just returned from the states. Your history makes you ideal for an undercover job infiltrating a local Triad gang.

The main storyline is solid. They do a good job of bringing you into the story, and letting you think you know where it's going only to throw a twist at you. Some moments are predictable, others come out of nowhere.

There is a ton of side stuff, like missions running errands for folks (by errands I mean debt collection, stealing cars, etc.), races, things to find, collecting items, etc.

What's really nice about collecting the hidden items, which is a staple of this genre, is that once you reach a certain level in the game, the items will begin to appear on your map. Also, they're not just "Run over the item and you collect it". Instead, there's an interactivity to it. For example, there are lock boxes hidden throughout the city. Find one, and about half the time they open, the other half you have to crack their lock via a minigame. It's not tough, but it's a welcome addition to the game play.

One of the biggest differences is the combat. This game is heavily into hand to hand combat over gun play. Yes, there's still enough gun play to keep you happy, but the hand to hand fighting is a lot of fun. You start off with basic attacks and learn easy to use combos as the game goes on and you collect items.

The biggest challenge for me out of the gate is remembering that this is a foreign country, and thus, the steering wheel is on the wrong side, and they drive on the wrong side of the road.

I do want to note that the boats, water, and islands are all underdeveloped. They were an afterthought in development, and considering the development hell this game went through, I understand why. To fill in the blanks there, this game was originally supposed to be the third entry in another series, but got cancelled. Another studio picked it up, finished it, and it has been hugely successful.

On that note, there's a sequel in development.

If you enjoy the open world GTA style games, this is a must buy.
