From the Boston Globe:
On the 35th anniversary of its launch, the Voyager 1 spacecraft is close to becoming the first man-made object to escape our solar system. The spacecraft--run by a 1977 computer 100,000 times less powerful than an Ipod Nano--is currently 11.3 billion miles away.

Pretty cool stuff.

Doesn't matter, it's still awesome.

Besides, for all we know some alien race powered it up and sent it on it's way to help us out a bit.

Or the Borg are on their way...

I can't imagine any alien race that knows better wanting to get a closer look at the hell-hole we call Earth, mainly due to the dickish, xenophobic dominant species.
