Michael Jai White wrote, directed, and stars in Black Dynamite.
This is a comedy that is shot in the style of the blackspoiltation films of the 70s.
This film isn't for everyone. In fact, I'd say you probably have to be a fan of film making to really get all the jokes. But this is a funny movie. Interestingly, it actually gets better about halfway through the film when it stops taking itself seriously.
Cameos galore from lots of famous black actors. Nobody A list, but you'll recognize a lot of faces.
Tons of jokes about cliche film plots and story telling devices, including a funny scene where one person's innocent line sparks a 10 minute breakdown using ridiculous logic to figure out the villains' plan.
Again, this won't be everyone's cup of tea, and the first act is a bit slow, but it's worth seeing once for film fans.
7 out of 10.
