2012

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I was all right.

I kept waiting to see how the cracking of the Earth's crust was the fault of failed Republican policies, but they managed to refrain.

The democratic (I assume democratic... Danny Glover) President was kind of a weenie, though. Not a good leader.

Oh, I just thought of an anti-republican bit in the movie...

They have a really bad impersonator of the current governor of California, and they make him look like an idiot.

Alternate ending. It really sucks.

It certainly does. I was half expecting that would end with them landing on the shores of Unicron Island, where everything is Kittens and Puppies Forever. Yeesh.

Did anyone else have a hard time watching 2012 just because they kept seeing that guy as the operative from Serenity for the whole thing?

I KNEW I'd seen him somewhere.

So they are going to Africa... which they said didn't even flood.

Which leaves a few million crazy cannibals with machetes and a few hundred thousand soft, rich white people with 3 big boats full of phat lewt in close proximity to each other.

I'd really like to see a sequel.

It's an ensemble disaster movie, so you know it's going to suck, and it doesn't disappoint.

Bad acting, bad writing, bad science, etc.

Still, it has some pretty cool visuals.

On a side note, this film made me realize that one of my biggest pet peeves in movies is when a crowd of people cheer because someone they don't know is ok. I hate that.

So this movie is about 2012, and right now on October 21, 2010, I'm reading an article about how everything this movie is based on was wrong.

Oops!

(And that article probably belongs elsewhere, I'm sure we have a chain about the topic, but this was easier to find.)
