The Prestige

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I recorded this and The Illusionist last month, and watched them both today.

I figured the movies would be about the same, and saw The Illusionist first.

I was disappointed with The Prestige. I figured out what was going on pretty early. I like the idea, and they did it well, but I just wish they were trickier with it.

I wouldn't bother watching it again.

This movie would be better if it was "Batman vs. Wolverine." That would be a kick-ass movie.

Not to derail the thread, but thib brings an interesting point to the table. How long before Marvel & DC do a crossover in the cinematic world?

I lean towards never on the film front.

Yeah, they've teamed up often in the comics world, but that's stopped lately as I've heard DC will not work with Marvel as long as Marvel's EIC is Joe Quesada. I cannot remember where I heard that and I don't know the reasons why, but I do remember hearing it.

Still, IF the time ever came when they decided to do something like that, it'd be a long time from now. DC and Marvel are just now planning "team" movies which would feature multiple characters like JLA (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, etc.) and Avengers (Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, etc.).

As for Wolvie and Batman, which would be the greatest team up ever, I'm pretty sure they've never meet, but I think such a meeting would sellout instantly, in comic or movie form.

I do know that during the late 80s/early 90s(?) Marvel and DC had a huge crossover of their entire universes whose storyline eventually led to all the characters being merged into an amalgam universe. That lead to this:

One online fan did create his version of how he thinks Wolvie vs. Batman would end:

For someone that had secret files on how to take out each member of the JLA (& many of them worked), one would thinks Bats would put up a helluva fight.

I found that picture looking to see if they ever had fought. The artist explained that he's a huge fan of both and figured this was the end of a long fight between the two. I doubt that as Bats doesn't look fucked up enough to have been in a long fight with Wolverine.

I think it'd be a great story. Actually, I think them teaming up would be a better story. Three story ideas come to mind:
-A Batman/Wolverine vs Joker/Sabertooth series would've been the stuff of legend. To be honest, I don't think even those two villains would be enough.
-A JLA/X-Men (or New Avengers) team up where the rest of the teams are disabled and Logan/Bruce are the last two standing to save the day. (A take off of Logan's common role. EX: The Hellfire club storyline and the Brood storyline. I think Bruce is in that position quite a bit too.)
-A Dark Knight type story where Batman realizes Wolverine will do the things he won't do, namely kill. It'd be a pretty good look at Bruce dealing with a unique opportunity to really make a difference (imagine Gotham where most of it's villains are dead), but struggling with the morality behind it. Meanwhile, Logan could see another man of rage and purpose who controls it and doesn't use lethal force.

That picture made me laugh. It made me think of the video from that gun store about the 30-second horror movie.

Yeah. That's how all Wolverine battles should go. Snickt; you're dead.

Watched The Prestige tonight. It wasn't bad. I had a lot of laughs over the "spy vs. spy" type shenanigans in the beginning.

Yeah. He's getting old. He was doing something weird with his voice, too. Thought it was him, then the eyes said for sure.
