Iran: we haven't even been talking
Where are you seeing they haven't even been talking? CNN was running articles today where Iran was stating that talks started because the U.S. reached out to them.

I think there are multiple groups in Iran right now all thinking they're in charge.

Wasn't it just last week when their president apologized to their neighbors for striking them only for the religious heads to call him a pussy and say he doesn't speak for Iran?

This plays into something I saw last night that there is speculation Trump's words were carefully chosen because this was a tactical play. He drones on and on about how the person they're talking to is "hugely respected" and the thinking is that they trying to create a rift among the groups in Iran. Holding off on the bombing sells it.

Who knows? It's almost like they don't tell us everything.

That was either CNN or ABCNews... actually, may have been WSJ.

Like I said, there are multiple groups relaying conflicting info in and out of Iran.

That's why part of Trump's statement discusses their contact as being someone respected that can unite the different factions in Iran.

That sentence I typed has never been said or written before!

To clarify, I was implying an intelligence person told him what to say to sow dissent.

This makes sense. If I were the other countries, I'd want Iran's regime out too. They always fund extremists and malcontents, and have been the region's top bully for centuries.

Because they can just fund ours by paying off our politicians, who then wage war, and then tax us more to pay for it. Duh?

This is not what the Trump administration said was happening.
Ships that pass will have to coordinate with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the powerful paramilitary group that has been labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the European Union, Arab mediators said.

Four ships were allowed to pass Wednesday, the fewest so far in April, according S&P Global Market Intelligence. Iran is requiring ships to work out toll arrangements ahead of time and then pay the fees in cryptocurrency or Chinese yuan, mediators and shipbrokers said.
We're losing.

Nope.

If Trump ends this war and the IRGC is still in power, then it was all for naught.

The only possible explanation is that he's intentionally letting Iran shut everything down to force Europe to engage.

But is anyone in the cabinet smart enough to think of that? I'm very skeptical.

Israel's silence on this whole thing is really odd.
