I did see a headline that Putin is apparently willing to accept U.S. guarantees on Ukrainian security, so we may be close to an end there.

Re: Iran
Some funny things I saw:
-They did elect a new Ayatollah who was killed within 8 hours.
-After that, a large council of big wigs met to elect a new one and Israel bombed the meeting killing everyone.
-The defense minister was killed in the first strikes. His replacement was killed a day later. His replacement's replacement was killed a day later.
-Iran recently did a huge televised piece on their latest Naval addition, a massive carrier with planes, choppers, and drones. They said it would dominate the Persian Gulf for years to come. It's now sitting on the bottom of the Gulf.
I really don't understand Iran's strategy for retaliation. "Attack everyone" seems like a losing strategy. They perhaps could have gotten sympathy from other Middle Eastern states, but now they're all openly against Iran. This really feels like the school yard bully is getting taken down and now all of his "friends" are showing their true feelings since they don't have to fear him anymore.
With that, and Iran being removed as the sponsor for all the terror groups in the Middle East, are we about to see a new age of peace there?
Not to mention that they've sent all of their hardliners and terrorists to the U.S. and Europe...

I guess, but to what end? They're just proving the West has been right about them.

Iran's financing of the Houthis, Hezbollah, the PLO, etc. is enough to justify the war. Their recent murder of 35K+ civilians is another.
Invading a neighboring country is justification to get your ass kicked. Second Gulf War was shakier, but if you're a dictator, maybe don't taunt the biggest guns on the planet? Someone might want to get the word out to all the other wannabe Hitlers and Stalins.
Your friend not thinking any of the above actions were/are justified is more than likely because they're bigoted against non-Muslims. I'm not throwing shade, but that's probably the truth.

I don't care how much we bomb, sink their Navy (again), and declare we are winning.
Iran is the size of 4(!) California's, with similar mountainous terrain to Afghanistan, we wouldn't have enough dudes to put boots on the ground(and actually accomplish anything) if we redid the entire build-up for the Vietnam war.
WTF are we doing??? The economics of this don't make any sense.
We've quietly lost like half a dozen super high end radars for THAAD, Patriot, etc. to small drones and just straight up ballistic missiles they were supposed to stop. Iran getting targeting help from our actual enemies.

Iran might have activated sleeper cells.
Thankfully, the U.S. has a strict immigration policy, and there's no way any could be here...

Re: Iran
In a word, yes. However, when your dad is that Ayatollah, it's less likely to happen.
Seriously, you haven't heard all of this? It's been mentioned in articles by every media outlet, this isn't a conspiracy theory. Apparently, it's one of the worst kept secrets in the intelligence world. It's why the former Ayatollah didn't want his son taking his place. I guess he didn't have the heart to kill him, but wasn't going to hand over the family business.
Anyway, Israel and the U.S. might have done the job for daddy dearest. There's been no proof of life for him in a while.

Re: Iran

Who knows.Trump said that Iran and the U.S. had many points of agreement in the current talks, which he previously said had been happening for two days – and he said that Iran agreed to never have a nuclear weapon.
It's not me, it's someone else.

It's genuinely a flip of the coin.

Re: Iran
In Iran, on state controlled TV, they're airing entire shows of the largest left wing streamer in the U.S.: Hassan Piker.
I don't know what that means, but I just found it odd.
