I liked this one. Jack's not hillarious in it. But that's ok. Cute story without alot of sappyness. It's definately worth watching.

If that's all I'd ever seen of her, I would to. But, I've seen her in too many other things, and I like her.
I even watched the movie with the kids' commentary on. When the kids tried to be funny on it, they weren't. But, they were often funny when they didn't mean to be. The Asian kid that plays the keyboard. . . . is really a geeky Asian kid that plays the piano. The rest of the kids were very nice to him though. The rest of the kids were really actually into rock and roll and stuff. Knew alot about it, the history of it, etc. They asked the Asian kid if he'd practiced that doors bit Jack had him play or if he just played it. He said he'd practiced it a couple times. They asked if he liked it. He said "Yes. It's a nice tune." So they asked if he was a doors fan. He stumbled and mumble and got out "well, that song, yes". In other words, it was obvious he'd never heard of, let alone heard, The Doors. I was crackin up cause he was the steriotypical Asian kid who's parents gave him piano lessons. They also gave him some slight ribbing cause he likes to read all the time. They asked him, "What did you do over the weekend?" He said "I was reading". Then they moved on. Anyway, it was cute.

Its was cute, family fun. Nothing spectacular, but not at all bad.
I would have given it 6 out of 10.
Cake, you listened to the commentaries, was the female bass player the only one who couldn't play an instrument?

She could play. If you're saying she sucked, that's one thing. But, they picked her for the part based on her base playing abilities. That's pretty much how all the kids were picked. . . based on what I saw in the special features. Same with the singers. The only one that didn't quite match up was 'Summer'. The manager control freak girl. She was actually a really good singer and had to take lessons to sing bad for her part. It's funny, if you pay attention, you can tell that all the extras/roadies/etc, could act WAY better than the band/singers. If it's common knowledge that she really couldn't play and they dubbed in her stuff or whatever, it's news to me.

She sucked then. She's the only one who didn't have a solo at the end. It just appeared that she was faking the whole film and every shot of them playing seemed to cover up the fact that she couldn't play. I just figured they had a hard time finding a little girl that could play bass.
I'm more impressed with her now that I know she could actually play. I wish they'd have let her solo.

Wacky thing is, the kids did talk about her solo at the end that was cut. Didn't go into details as to why. But, she did point out that she doesn't play Chello (2 l's? dunno. anyway), she plays base. So, I dunno. My guess is that she CAN play, but can't rock, or something. Not that the Asian kid could. . . but, you just can't cut him!

It pisses me off that they cut her solo. She, to me, was the coolest kid. I mean, how many little girl do you know that play bass?
