I'm old enough and have enough money to buy what I Iwant. Xmas is for the kids at this point.
And, really, if she's just going to buy something you ask for, what's the difference?

The difference being that I don't have to listen to her bitch about how she feels bad that she didn't get me anything for Xmas.
This is more a gift for her than anything.

Your moms always deliver.

That's pretty much how I roll.
And I let her buy her own shit, too.

Good points but I also think it would be kind of a bummer to be so jaded and dead on the inside that opening one or two things on Xmas isn't still nice or fun. No matter if I ask for it or it is a surprise.
It is never going to be like opening up an AT-AT at your grandparents when you are 8 but it is still nice.

It's not that I'm jaded or dead inside: it's just that for me, EVERY day is Christmas!

Same here. I give gifts at random all year round when something perfect comes up. I get gifts all year round when someone thinks of something perfect. No need for the calendar to give us permission.

I like the idea of a day where everyone is supposed to be nice, but I dislike the religious holidays in general, because they are religious.
