He might as well be a prostitute because it's not like you're going to recognize his real name. You'd really only know him from his stage name, Strumpet Silk "A.K.A. Douglas Silk". . . .

Alright yeah I just made that up, but he has gotten around in the music industry. Whoring himself out to any shit proclaimed "artist" that pays him to multi-produce their music so they can just sing and not have to learn that OTHER part of being a musician. . .

Anyway. . . Aside from that. He made this, and its pretty good.

Uptown Funk

Has Bruno Mars.. Which really blows, hope they make a version with him dubbed out. Like they did with Lil Wayne in almost every song he's featured in EVER.

One of the funniest conversations I've heard:

White guy #1: Hey, who's that black rap dude?
White guy #2: Which one?
WG1: The one with all the tattoos.
WG2: You mean Little Wayne?
WG1: Yeah! Him.

Did you recently discover Paul McCartney because of that piano thing he did for Kanye?

Ha. Haha. . . .

Paul McCartney is a douche bag. So were the Beatles.

There doesn't seem to be all that much funk in this Uptown Funk.

That video would make George Clinton sad.

Yeah, you'll have to explain the logic behind that statement.

In fairness to Trooper, McCartney is a little bit of a douche bag in his old age.

The rest is just trolling.

Idk, people in my generation idolize those English twats because it's apparently a cool HIP thing to do.

Fuck, that. I personally find their music to be extremely boring, and just far too wrapped around one central theme. Drugs.
As I said, I find their music to be a huge bore, but I think what I hate most about them is their fans. Its like you have to talk/act/dress/think like a dirty fucking hippy, with Earth's raging cock in your mouth JUST to be a proper Beatles fan.

Ringo is a huge douche bag, who changes their name to Ringo fucking Starr? Sounds like a damn porn-star name. McCartney is a douche bag because he talks too damn much, and has too have an opinion about everything, which normally clash with my own opinions. Seeing how he has half the world sucking his dirty hippy chode, I get to hear about his bullshit thoughts quite often. Therefore, fuck the Beatles, fuck each and every member of the Beatles, and fuck what they stand for. Dirty, rotten, hippy, bastards.

Drugs.

The Beatles didn't take drugs until Bob Dylan introduced them. Also...
And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.

- Bill Hicks

Therefore, fuck the Beatles, fuck each and every member of the Beatles, and fuck what they stand for. Dirty, rotten, hippy, bastards.

If you're going to hold you musicians to standards besides musical ones, then your catalog's going to drop. Do I agree with all the politics of each of them? Hell no. I don't even think Ringo drums that well. I'll readily acknowledge they invented the "big-ass stadium tour." They also wrote some of the tightest harmonies known to mankind.

Yeah, if you insist on your entertainers having political views you won't hate you aren't going to have very much music to listen to. Or movies or TV shows to watch.

But not liking them because you don't like their music, that's legit. I disagree with your opinion of their work - I'm not a huge fan or anything but some of their songs are quite nice - but certainly can't fault you for not liking it.

Somehow this turned into a Fuck The Beatles thread, so what the hell.

Here's what's interesting to me. Somewhere around 1971 or so something happened in the recording business. Stuff recorded after then still can sound kind of modern: think Led Zeppelin's 4th album. Stuff recorded before then (give or take) sounds really dated...and this includes pretty much all of the Beatles catalog.

Here's a great example. On Sgt Pepper, stereo was still kind of new and exciting, so people were trying out weird shit. Like, the drums would all be panned to the left channel, and the bass to the right. Maybe it was the drugs; I dunno. I think it was more to do with the newness of technology.

I'm not a huge Beatles fan; not a hater either. I def. think it was one of those things where you Had To Be There.

Did you read the very first post I made? I explain who he is, and one of his songs that isn't bad.

I still have no idea who he is.

I just clicked the link, is that song supposed to be good?

Uptown Funk is currently huge, at least in the Cougar demo that comes to our shows.

Playing at the pub. Samples notorious by Duran Duran. Might explain thib's demographic observations.
