From here. U.N. and U.S. respond by threatening more "isolation and international sanctions." Who thinks either of those are in short supply in North Korea already?

So they'll have the only ones...uh, they mean, can't we all just get along?

"We will sanction the fuck out of you." Too bad they won't actually do anything.

Yeah, China will totally let them starve because they want a country full of crazy starving people with nukes on their border.

I say we just make one big shipment of arms to South Korea, walk away, and then whatever happens happens.

There's only one thing that keeps South Korea from steamrolling into NK: Seoul is within artillery range of the border. It is guesstimated that there are about 100k artillery pieces aimed at the capitol. Now, my personal guess is that most of the equipment is as shitty as the Soviet war machine turned out to be... but who is going to gamble?
Sending arms to SK wouldn't matter. It is already essentially a western army, and is more than capable of taking out every place in NK where two tactically important pieces of wood are nailed together... but the price is too high to risk, apparently.

Versus the chances of them getting a working nuke or fucking up and having it explode prematurely?

NK getting all aggressive with the south.

I wonder if the new Kim Jong Un, who spent a lot of time in Iowa, is trying to get the ruling government there to lighten the fuck up, so they are getting all war-mongery. Then Dennis Rodman shows up and just enrages them, showing them that the west truly is sick and deserves to be destroyed.
I bet they assassinate Kim Jong Un themselves, blame the west, and use it as an excuse to launch a war. They are so crazy they think the rest of the world doesn't think they are crazy.

I still maintain that bombing the everloving fucking shit out of that country can only increase the GNP. It'll be like in Dilbert when the Elbonians declared war.
