I read some article on some website about "My child's body is her own and I am not going to make her hug her grandma if she doesn't feel like hugging grandma that day."
Thoughts?

My kid didn't want to hug granddad yesterday, so my wife did not make her hug grandad, but said she had to talk and be polite to grandad.

Depends on the situation. If grandma is fine and the kid is just being whiny, make that kid hug her. If grandma is being creepy and annoying, side with the kid.
