So ever since I was a kid, and knew it was a job, I've wanted to be a Playboy photographer. Always been a big fan of nude female body.

We are finishing our attic this Fall, and I asked my wife if I could setup a photography studio for doing nudes, bodyscapes, maybe boudoir photography, etc. At first, she said "uh, no.". But we discussed it further and she has agreed, just as long as the kids aren't home when it happens. She even said she made ght help with photo editing, etc, and helping with lighting and such.

So hopefully that happens, and I learn the editing, etc. Will hopefully have an update in 6 months or so.

In semi-related news, I've also asked work if I could take Fridays off for the rest of my career as I move towards retirement. Initial conversations were positive, possibly even without a pay cut.

Ditto. What are the odds!?

Good luck to you!

We have a few people who work four day weeks during the summer at our office. Honestly, with remote work and flexible hours being so popular there days, and with studies proving their value, I'm surprised four day work weeks aren't more common.

Yeah. The work attitude in our office skews towards a lot of hours (except, uh, me + my department :) ), so 60 hours is probably the norm, +/-. But it's very eat what you kills, to the incentives are strong if you get things done. My team is Software, and less eat/kill, so we typically keep 40 hour weeks, with some after hours support since other people work so many hours + some weekends.

So, I think the sticking point might be my Friday in case of emergency availability. If I'm willing to be available, even if not "working" then I think that's what the paycut would hinge on. Seems like a reasonable accommodation for not having a 20% pay cut, but not sure yet. The kids are still in school, so it's not like I can go crazy in life.

Well, not soon, but I did get equipment at the start of the year, and have been taking some pictures throughout the year. Finally took a picture last week that I really liked. Hope to keep getting better, and hire models at some point in the near future.

Good luck finding models. I tried getting some for a simple book cover shoot, and every single person and entity I went through assumed I was looking to exploit and rape vulnerable girls.

I might have mentioned this previously, but there is a photo near my office that I really want to take, but I don't know shit about photography.

It's not naked women, so lame, but I think it's cool. Two trees alone in the middle of a field. Clearly grew together and their limbs prove it by the way they are situated because of the other. Nothing else within hundreds of yards. One is alive and vibrant. Full leaves and whatnot. The other is dead.

I think it's something that a good photographer could have sitting in a museum.

Oh that does sound cool. You could do seasonal ones of it too. I'm still working on my "eye" which needs a lot of help.

I like that. Do a collage type of thing with a picture from each season. I'll credit you on the museum plaque.

Have you considered transferring your consciousness to a younger black person? :D

Is that frowny face because I didn't say "Spoilers"?

If people haven't seen it by now...

I also think that was the dumbest part of the movie.
A photographer's "eye" is not a physical thing, but a gift within the brain. It has to do with experience and instincts. Thinking you could move your consciousness over and immediately gain that gift was always stupid.

Well yeah! Thus, moving your conscious to a young black person. C'mon grandpa, keep up!
