Bioware is going to have $15 and $7 DLC available to download the day Dragon Age: Origins comes out.

If it is ready the day the game is released then why isn't it part of the regular disc? I can accept making more things to do in a game after it is released because you have to pay those people who worked on it but this just seems like leaving stuff out that the original development team made just for a money grab. Of course if someone is dumb enough to pay $22 the same day they paid $60 for a game maybe you deserve to get ripped off.

This seems like an EA idea to me.

Well, the trailer in that link starts right out with the EA logo splatted on the screen. So, ya, it probably was an EA idea.

So... $82 bucks to buy the full game on day 1? Yeah.

No. $67. The $15 DLC is free for those that pre-order, or buy the game new. Those that buy it used will have to pay the $15. That's how I read it.

An obvious attempt to make money off the used game market.

That is how it is now, the seemed to have changed it a bit. Original reports were saying the $15 DLC was only free to those who pre ordered the collectors edition.

Who is buying DLC the day they get a game anyway? Don't you have the whole thing to play still?

I still wouldn't pay $67 for a game. $45 is my limit, and that's a game I am itching to get when it is first released. Otherwise I wait until it hits my fave $20 price point.

Oh yeah I am defiantly getting this game but Bioware has about two years of DLC planned so I will probably wait a couple of years before I play it but I am defiantly getting it at some point.

Preordered from Impluse + promo code SURVEY-2009 = 20% off.

Getting the collectors ed. for 51 bucks, regular one would be.. 40ish.

Spent the entire time I played last night in one of the Origin stories, didn't even start the game!

So far, it's fun, controls remind me of Baulder's Gate.

LOTS of a really good voice acting. Haven't seen the evil guys yet, but I'm about to. Blood is kind of funny, I did the mage Origin, and I got one melee person who tagged along. The person ended up COVERED in blood by the end of it, it was funny.

Moral choices are about what you expect, sort of like the Witcher, in that there aren't really any good or bad guys. I'm an Elf, and Human have enslaved me and treat me like shit, but I'm also a mage, so they are scared of me too. It's interesting.

DLC was easy enough, after I read on the Impulse boards that they screwed up their file upload and forgot to add the DLC installer or something. Once I got it, It downloaded right away, and added itself to the game.

I just got Dragon Age a few days ago from Goozex. Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and second myself on this comment.

Then, as I was walking about, some guy started talking to me about some mission, and I'm like "OK" and then the game tells me to exit to the main screen to download (and pay for) it.

Ummm, no.
